While living in Japan we observed that Japanese people don't use hand dryers or paper towels to dry their hands in public bathrooms. They use 'Han-ka-chi', personal hand towels they carry with them to public bathrooms. Smile Tree has transformed this idea for environmentally conscious North Americans. We recycle towels and turn them into stylish hand towels that North Americans can carry with them to public bathrooms.
What is my Smile Tree made of?
We source high quality used towels and clothing. They must to be clean (we wash them anyway), soft and look great once they are turned into Smile Trees.
Where do I keep my Smile Tree?
You can keep a Smile Tree in your backpack, handbag, satchel, or purse - they roll up tight enough to fit in the smallest of spaces. Smile Trees also work particularly well in the workplace - you can keep them in your desk drawer!
Will my Smile Tree be wet and soggy in my handbag?
Your Smile Tree will be damp after you use it - but if you are simply using it to dry your hands, just leave it unrolled in your backpack and it will dry itself quickly. You can wash your Smile Tree with your regular laundry to make sure it stays clean and smells fresh.
Where can I get a Smile Tree?
Feel free to order one online - they only cost $1 to ship. Otherwise visit us at a local market or merchant. We are currently based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada and make regular appearances at the local Farmer's market. We will update our Twitter feed with any new merchants or locations.
